My name is Xiaoke Chen and I am the founder of Terrapane. I know my
name can be a bit challenging to pronounce, so feel free to call me
Susan.
I had a goal of trying to help individuals and companies do business
with China, including establishing corporate offices, manufacturing goods,
recruiting, exporting, or simply providing support or additional help to
companies as they try to accomplish specific tasks. I also wanted to
provide clients with training on how to be successful in doing business
with China, focusing on the different cultural aspects, business practices,
social interactions, and so forth. I founded Terrapane to do all of
those things.
I was originally born in Beijing, China and lived there most of my life,
moving to the United States in 2002. As such, I have a wealth of contacts
throughout China and know and understand how to get things done. That is
definitely the most important qualification I have that my clients need.
Over the years, I have worked with a number of US-based companies to
perform quite a wide variety of tasks. As examples, I've worked with
DaimlerChrysler and Ford Motor Company pioneering their customer service
and management training programs throughout China. I've worked with a
number of companies to manufacture goods in China, which included
drafting product requirements documents, request for proposals,
selecting candidate manufacturers and suppliers, and working to bring
those products to market in the United States. I have also worked with
companies in the United States to open offices in China, conduct market
research or to find firms qualified to perform research in specialized
areas, work with recruiting agencies in China to staff offices, and help
build strong business relations between US-based firms and Chinese
partners.
I strive to be very open with my clients and I try to impart that
work ethic throughout our organization. I encourage clients
or potential clients to reach out to me or others at Terrapane with
any questions they might have. Even if we are unable to win your
business, we do hope to see you succeed.
